Seen on a bumper sticker yesterday: "I may be fat, but you're ugly, and I can always diet!"
Also interesting: according to the newest edition of National Geographic magazine (which everyone who's even remotely interested in the world around them should read, because it's awesome), the breed of dog extant today and recognized by the AKC that's closest to the grey wolf genetically is the Shiba Inu. I can sort of see it, I guess. Especially in the eyes and the bulky build.
I think I'm going to close commissions for now, at least the "regular" commissions. I'll still offer pixel avatars (like I sell anything but pixel avatar commissions ...) but not for any other art. I'm trying to actively redefine my style, experimenting with separate techniques and seeing what works for me. Eventually, I'd like to have two styles: one realistic, and one stylized. "Stylized" will be with lines and cell-shaded, like Ivy up at the top of the journal skin. "Realistic" will be as close to a photograph as I can get it. I'm pretty happy with my "stylized" style, actually. Right now, I'm working on "realistic" (not photographic quality quite yet, of course; for now I'll settle on something vaguely realistic and attractive).
I'll tell you all when commissions open again, and I'll probably post an updated pricelist at the time. No, prices won't go up, but it'll be a little updated, with my updated journal skin, updated examples, and updated explanations. So look for that soon!
... hopefully.
