Life is green.
baby-spring green,
fresh-cut grass and birdsong.
the world is just born,
and can't you smell the rain coming?
birds cry out to one another,
desperate to proclaim their happiness,
and you take it in and smile.
Life is red.
the flush of desire and lust,
lips parting with a sigh,
the mania of want,
then your heart turned inside out
for the world to see its color.
the heat of rage spreading through your body,
a crimson wave of hate.
Life is gray.
dreary drizzly despair,
heart expanding until it chokes your throat,
